Nick Wrzesinski > 2008-05-05 (Day 3) Haircut I got a haircut on Saturday after I took Saturday's picture but you couldn't really tell from Sundays picture. Personally I could care less what my hair looks like but it was just getting too hot with the weather warming up. So after 9 months I finally got a haircut. The only room with good light in my apartment is the bathroom. I used the 50 f/1.4 at f/2 sitting on the window sill in the shower. I would not suggest doing a SP at f/2. The DOF is just too small and I was lucky to get my eye in focus.
Nick Wrzesinski > 2008-05-16 (Day 14) Friday night and I'm doing laundry. I'm just out of control. Somebody better slow me down. It's been two weeks now and I may not post an image each day but I've been taking one each day and post it the next sometimes. I'm surprised I've been this good about it. I've even managed to make it a self portrait each day. I don't know how much longer I'll keep that up though. I really need to get a point and shoot. Carrying around a DSLR is not fun all the time. Maybe I'll go shopping this weekend.
Nick Wrzesinski > 2008-05-27 (Day 25) I really wasn't in the mood to take a picture today. I've been surrounded by friends for the past 5 days and then today I woke up alone in my apartment and had to go to work. I stayed in bed as long as I could, not because I was tired but because I just didn't want to face the world today, not alone. Then my friend invited me over to watch some TV and just hang out after work and I felt a little better. When I got home I had a package waiting for me. Some gear I had lent to a friend. But then I opened it up and it brought a huge grin to my face. 6 wee bottles of Scotch Whisky and a Vegetarian Haggis. I went from feeling crappy and almost not taking a picture for the first time in almost a month to smiling and continuing something I started because of her. Thanks Steph, you really made my day. This also reminds me that I have a couple things I need to put in the mail.
Nick Wrzesinski > 2008-05-08 (Day 6) This morning I donated blood and instead of donating whole blood I did a doble red blood cell donation. What that means is they hook you up to an Alyx machine and it takes your blood, separates the red blood cells and returns the plasm back to your body. The needle is smaller but the donation takes a little longer. You also need to wait twice as long before you can donate blood again. All day I've been exhausted. I don't know if it was from giving blood or from my constant lack of sleep. Whatever the cause I've been ready for a nap since about 1PM this afternoon.
Nick Wrzesinski > 2008-06-11 A friend was in town this week from Edmonton so I played tour guide for a couple hours. It was fun and great to see her. The weather was fantastic and there were even fireworks over Navy Pier. Here's one of the shots I got from Buckingham Fountain. This was the first time I'd taken pictures of it at night. I really missed my BH-40 tonight. The other ballhead I have just wasn't cutting it. Off it goes back to RRS to get fixed tomorrow.
Nick Wrzesinski > 2008-05-06 (Day 4) Cards On Tuesday nights my friend works at the bar so we get together and play cards. Can you figure out what game we're playing?
Nick Wrzesinski > 2008-05-13 (Day 11) Sometimes you just need a good scratch behind the ear. Lately Molly has been very cuddly but only on her terms. Which means when I'm trying to go to sleep or trying to use the sink in the bathroom. She curls up in the sink and waits for me to scratch her head. I think the camera scares her when I put it in front of my face cause she bolts out of the room when I do that. So this picture was harder to get than you might think.
Nick Wrzesinski > 2008-06-14 This is a party weekend with my family. Today I had a graduation party in the afternoon and a retirement party in the evening. Both were fun. The retirement party was a surprise party and my uncle was mad because he ate too much at the graduation party so he was full for his retirement party. It was nice outside for the most part and at one point it rained for a minute and then there was a large rainbow across the entire sky. Overall it was a pretty good day.
Nick Wrzesinski > 2008-05-31 Moving day for a friend. All I had to do was unload since they loaded up the truck in the morning. Her new apartment is really nice and the windows are awesome. The apartment is so bright with natural light and with the breeze blowing through the apartment it was very relaxing. She does have one of the heaviest couches I've ever moved. It took 4 of us to get it up to the 4th floor, not very fun. I gave something back today that I've had for a long time. It is one of a few items I have left from a very happy time in my life. I thought giving it back was the right thing to do but now I feel like I've given away a cherished memory that I won't ever get back. I wish I didn't feel so awkward and could just act normal about it for once.
